Modi has given Kashi a global identity: Yogi
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided the ancient city of Varanasi a global identity with a perfect blend of religion, spirituality and modern development. The PM represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha.
Yogi also said Varanasi was fast emerging as a hub of agriculture export, silk and handloom production, export, health and tourism. He was reviewing the development projects of Varanasi division comprising Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur and Ghazipur districts through video-conferencing from here.
According to a statement issued by the chief minister’s office, Yogi said: “The entire Kashi will be developed as a model of development and tourism.”
The CM expressed displeasure over delay in projects due to
SIT probe into corruption complaints with regard to 55 construction projects in Ghazipur, 11 in Jaunpur, eight in Chandauli and seven in Varanasi.
“In cases of corruption, recovery from the guilty will be made under any circumstances. Work should not suffer in any case,” he said. There are 28 on-going projects in the division and the total cost of these projects is Rs 8409.33 crore. The chief minister asked officials to expedite construction work in the medical colleges of Ghazipur and Jaunpur and start construction of the Chandauli Medical College at the earliest.
Five UP ministers Ashutosh Tandon, Neelkanth Tiwari, Upendra Tiwari, Ravindra Jaiswal, Girish Yadav and Rama Shankar Singh Patel, along with the public representatives of all the districts, were present in the meeting.
