PAC deployment, restricted entry at vaccine reserve centres
LUCKNOW: The main reserve centres of Covid-19 vaccine will have restricted entry while the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) will be deployed at state, regional and district level centres to avert any security breach or damage to the vaccines, said Prashant Kumar, ADG, law and order.
Fire fighters’ team will also be deputed at the main reserves of the state, regions and districts. Route charts are being prepared for the transportation of vaccines from storage places to designated vaccination centres. For this, the police are roping in civil defence personnel as well, he added
Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Lucknow, Naveen Arora said police arrangements are been made keeping all apprehensions in mind. The cops and the PAC will be deployed round the clock at the main vaccine reserves. Apart from the state, regional and district reserves in Lucknow, 24 small distribution centres are been made. At least 64 vaccination centres having 185 vaccination counters are being set up. The maximum number of 34 vaccination counters will be at the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) premises while some extra police force will be deployed there to assist people, he said.
He said each counter will have one head constable/ constable and one home guard while one home guard will be deployed at the exit point. Each centre will be under the supervision of one sub-inspector who will be assisted by one head constable and two constables. Twelve assistant commissioners of police will be made nodal officers of their region in Lucknow, he added.
