Land of 20 villages to be acquired for Ganga e-way

PRAYAGRAJ : Under land acquisitio­n for the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj, 182-hectare land will be acquired in 20 villages of the district and for which the administra­tion has already started survey work necessary before starting the acquisitio­n process, say officials privy to the developmen­t.

The survey work at Judapur near neighbouri­ng Pratapgarh district is almost complete. Villagers have been called for talks in the remaining 20 villages for land acquisitio­n as well, they add.

Land is being acquired in 11 districts f or the 594 km expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj.

Prayagraj district administra­tion has already issued details of the villages for land acquisitio­n in 12th district under the project—Prayagraj. Farmers will be compensate­d at the new rate for this land, say officials.

Additional district magistrate (finance and revenue) MP Singh said landowners of Bari, Sarai Nandan aka Samaspur, Sarai Madan Singh aka Chanti, Sarai Bharat aka Holagarh, Sarai Hariram, Khemkaranp­ur and Madhopur, Malak Chaturi tehsil of Soraon were called by the administra­tion for talks in this regard.

“The individual­s concerned of these villages whose land could be acquired need to produce their documents before the land acquisitio­n officer,” he added.

Additional district magistrate (finance and revenue) MP Singh said the survey will be conducted only on the basis of the documents submitted by these individual­s. For this sixlane expressway, 120 metres in width of land will be acquired. A green belt will also be developed on t he sides of t he expressway.

A total of 16 toll plazas will be constructe­d on the entire expressway.

Due to its constructi­on, the districts along Ganga river will be able to develop faster and offer easy flow of traffic through them. The expressway will be constructe­d by Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Developmen­t Authority (UPEIDA).

Officials shared that this expressway will start from Bijauli village of Meerut on Meerut-Bulandshah­r highway (NH-334) and pass through Hapur, Bulandshah­r, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanp­ur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh districts before reaching Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj connecting to NH-19.
