516 FRESH COVID CASES IN UP, 121 IN LUCKNOW

LUCKNOW: The state capital reported the most fresh Covid-19 infection cases, 121, and the maximum deaths, 4, among all the districts of the state here on Monday, according to official data.

During the same period, Uttar Pradesh reported 516 fresh Covid cases, down from 699 on Sunday, and 10 deaths.

According to an official bulletin, there were two fatalities from Ayodhya and one each from Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Unnao and Kannauj, besides the four in Lucknow.

The overall death toll across UP now stands at 8,504 and the statewide tally of coronavirus infection cases has reached 5,93,680.

Lucknow has reported 79,988 Covid-19 infection cases so far, of which 76,616 have recovered while 1,136 deaths have been reported in the state capital till now.

The number of active cases in the state had now come down to 10,864 with 4,061 recuperating in home isolation, 1,045 in private hospitals and the remaining ones in government facilities, additional chief secretary (health and family welfare) Amit Mohan Prasad said.

A total of 5,74,312 people recovered so far from the infection in the state, he said, pegging the recovery rate in the state at 96.74%.

“The recovery rate is 95.78% in Lucknow,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general association of international doctors.

On Sunday, over 1.23 lakh samples were tested, taking the total number of tests conducted in the state to over 2.54 crore till date, Prasad added.

In Lucknow, 136 patients were discharged while the samples of 6,186 people were collected for the Covid test.

The fresh cases in Lucknow were reported from Gomti Nagar 15, Rae Bareli Road 12, Thakurganj 10 and Chowk 10. Only these areas reported over 10 cases while the other areas reported less than 10 fresh cases.

Kanpur reported 23 fresh Covid cases, Prayagraj 16, Ghaziabad 13, Gautam Budha Nagar 18, Meerut 24 and Varanasi 14.
