VACCINATION SHOULD BE IN LINE WITH CENTRE’S NORMS, SAYS CM
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the Covid-19 vaccination campaign scheduled to begin on January 16 should be carried out strictly in accordance with the central government’s guidelines across Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath reviewed the arrangements being made for the Covid-19 vaccination campaign at a video conference with the district magistrates and chief medical officers of various districts of the state on Monday.
In particular, he spoke to the district magistrates and the chief medical officers of Meerut, Siddharth Nagar, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Lucknow about the arrangements being made there for Covid-19 vaccination. He said adequate precaution should be taken to further check the spread of the infection. He also enquired about arrangements for cold chain, storage, transportation and training of personnel.
The vaccination should be carried out with interdepartmental coordination, the chief minister said, adding that the state health department would work as the nodal department for the vaccination campaign.
People should be educated about measures for protection from the coronavirus disease, he said, adding that arrangements in Covid-19 hospitals should remain functional.
Calling for integrated command and control centres to remain active, he said contact tracing and surveillance system should be run with full commitment. While medical testing should be carried out to the optimum, fire safety systems in government and private hospitals should be checked on priority basis, he said.
