CBI sleuths search multiple locations across UP

LUCKNOW : The Central Bureau of Investigat­ion (CBI) carried out searches at multiple locations across UP on Thursday in connection with on-going investigat­ion of three separate cases.

Search on the premises of accused in two cases led to recovery of incriminat­ing documents, including alleged fake/ forged ST Certificat­es, CBI officials claimed.

In the first case, it was alleged that the accused, one Ramesh Chandra Meena, got job on the post of Lower Division Clerk in Employee’s Provident Fund Organisati­on in July 1985 by using alleged fake/forged ST certificat­e purportedl­y issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Hindaun, Sawai Madhopur. This, when the accused allegedly belonged to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

It was further alleged that he was promoted to the post of Account Officer/Enforcemen­t Officer after his joining by using benefits of the said ST certificat­e. In the second case, it was alleged that the accused got job with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) under ST quota on the basis of alleged forged/fake certificat­e purportedl­y issued by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Deeg (Rajasthan). However, he was allegedly inhabitant of Hathras (UP).

It was further alleged that the accused joined MTNL and appointed as Junior Telecom Officer(JTO) through department­al Examinatio­n under ST Category. He retired as Senior Manager (Telephone) in July 2018 from MTNL, New Delhi.

It was also alleged that the accused had managed to get allotment of a DDA flat under the benefits of ST quota in 1987.

In a third case, CBI sleuths conducted search at 14 locations, including Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Meerut and Kanpur on the premises of accused in a connection with a case registered against its four officials, including DSP, Inspector, Steno and private persons, including some advocates, under relevant sections of IPC and PC Act on the allegation­s of compromisi­ng the investigat­ion of certain cases

Investigat­ion in the three cases is continuing, said the CBI officials.
