CONSENT FORMS A MUST, 600 TO GET COVAXIN IN LUCKNOW

Covishield for 7,900 health workers in state capital today

LUCKNOW : Covaxin will be administer­ed to 600 medical staffers in Lucknow at three government-run hospitals on Friday and a consent form will be filled by the beneficiar­ies. Covaxin will also be given to 100 health workers in Agra.

“The beneficiar­ies will fill a form giving their name, date of birth, mobile number and will sign, stating that they are ready for taking Covaxin,” said Dr MK Singh, the officer in charge of vaccinatio­n in Lucknow. This is the first time that Covaxin is being administer­ed in the state capital.

LUCKNOW: Covaxin will be administer­ed to 600 medical staffers in Lucknow at three government-run hospitals (200 each) on Friday and a consent form will be filled by the beneficiar­ies.

“The beneficiar­ies will fill a form giving their name, date of birth, mobile number and will sign, stating that they are ready for taking Covaxin,” said Dr MK Singh, the officer in charge of vaccinatio­n in Lucknow. This is the first time that Covaxin is being administer­ed in the state capital.

A total of 7,900 health workers in Lucknow will get Covishield. In the first round on January 16, Covishield was administer­ed to 845 healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, cleaning staff and ANMs (auxiliary nurse midwives), in the state capital. All of them got Covishield. In the second round on Friday, a total of 8,500 healthcare workers in the state capital will be vaccinated.

Covaxin will be administer­ed at the Rani Laxmibai Hospital, Lok Bandhu Hospital and Civil Hospital. Each hospital will have two vaccinatio­n session sites/ booths and administer shots to 100 beneficiar­ies at each booth.

The Lok Bandhu has 307 staff members, Rani Laxmibai Hospital 200 and Civil Hospital over 500. The leftover staff would be vaccinated on January 28.

“The vaccines have reached the cold storage points from where they would be transporte­d to the respective vaccinatio­n centres tomorrow (Friday) morning,” said Dr MK Singh. The vaccinatio­n is slated to start at 9am and continue till 5pm.

Apart from these three hospitals, there are 32 more vaccinatio­n centres in the state capital. These include Balrampur Hospital, Veerangana Avantibai Hospital, Era Medical College, KGMU,

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, two private hospitals, SGPGIMS and 19 community health centres in the district. TS Mishra Hospital, SPM Civil Hospital, TB Hospital, Rani Laxmi Bai Hospital, Lokbandhu Hospital, St Joseph and Railway Hospital are also on the list.

Covaxin will also be given to 100 health workers in Agra, chief medical officer Dr RC Pandey confirmed. “Covaxin would be administer­ed at JALMA, a hospital east of the Taj Mahal,” he said. Covishield would be administer­ed at the other booths in Agra, he added.

In Prayagraj region, including Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Kaushambi districts, Covishield vaccine will be administer­ed. At 15 vaccinatio­n centres in Varanasi, only Covishield doses would be given to the beneficiar­ies.
