Tales of CRPF bravehearts to be shared soon

-

LUCKNOW : Tales of valour of brave hearts from the country’s leading security force, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), will now be shared with the people through a mobile application, said CRPF director-general AP Maheshwari, said here, on Friday.

Maheshwari made the announcement while signing a memorandum of understanding with a private firm at a programme at its Bijnor group centre in Lucknow. He said that the untold stories of bravery, sacrifice, and triumph of CRPF brave hearts will be showcased through the application titled Slow App. “The CRPF is the most decorated police force in the country with 2,112 gallantry medals bestowed upon it by a thankful nation. In the selfless service of the nation, the force has also sacrificed 2,224 brave hearts, who cared for the lives of their fellow countrymen more than their own,” he emphasised.

He said the CRPF has a long history of courage which is largely unknown to the common man. He said these stories will inspire and motivate youngsters to do something progressive. “The story of each CRPF brave heart brings with it lessons of empathy, sacrifice, humanity and bravery. We are happy that with this application, not just our brave hearts, but the stories of their ever-supporting families will also be rightly told to the world,” Maheshwari said.

The courageous act of CRPF personnel Yam Bahadur Thapa, who played a crucial role in foiling the terror attack on parliament on December 13, 2001, was also narrated during the event. The DG also felicitated Thapa during the programme and honoured him by addressing him as the chief guest of the programme.

The DG said CRPF officers and jawans will also showcase their own talents on the app in video, audio and text formats, including veterans, who are serving their communities with the same values even after retiring from the force. He said the achievements of children of CRPF personnel will also be featured, apart from other content that will be inspiring for viewers and listeners of all ages.
