HC ORDER FOR UPKKA
The Delhi High Court has summoned the books of accounts including balance sheets of UP Kho-Kho Association while restraining withdrawal of funds from the bank accounts of the Association. The court has also directed the UPKKA neither to induct any new member nor to remove any member in the meantime. Justice Pratibha M Singh passed the order on a petition filed by Mukul Kumar and another. Petitioners had claimed that they are members of the District Kho-Kho Association, Uttar Pradesh.
According to petitioners, Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI) is the national sports federation which governs the game of kho-kho and UPKKA is the state association for the sport of game for which elections were last held on July 30, 2017. Petitioners’ plea was that the intention of the IC was to set up a parallel Kho-Kho Association at the State level and completely dissolve the present one. Therefore, without any discussion Association was dissolved. The court has fixed February 22, 2021 as the next date of hearing in the case.
