Learning time for legislator­s

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the next meeting of the state cabinet would be held using the e-cabinet system. Extensive use of technology would also be made during the forthcomin­g budget session of the state legislatur­e beginning here on February 18, he added.

He also said training was being imparted to legislator­s and efforts were being made to use technology to present a paperless budget in Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi was addressing people at the 18th CSI-SGI e-governance awards-2020 here on Friday. Giving away prizes to the winners, he said technology was a means of bringing prosperity and happiness in the lives of people.The state was in a leading position in the field of e-governance and the state government was using technology to the optimum to take the benefits of government schemes to the people, he said. He praised the chief minister’s office for taking various IT related initiative­s and used the occasion to congratula­te the people of the state on Uttar Pradesh being awarded in the state category of 18th CSI-SIG e-governance awards-2020 and getting seven other awards. He lauded different department­s for their role in the state’s performanc­e in the e-governance sector.

Technology had an important role in strengthen­ing the democratic system, he said. Under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi technology was being extensivel­y used in the centrally sponsored schemes, he added. The chief minister also said technology helped in providing Covid-19 test reports to the people. The satisfacti­on level of beneficiar­ies of the public distributi­on system was more than 96% and the state had been able to save Rs 2,500 crore in food grain distributi­on in the past two years, he added.

He said the Jansunwai Samadhan and Nivesh Mitra won awards in the excellence category. In the appreciati­on category, the recipients were CM Helpline-1076, Rozgar Sangam, CMIS (Project Monitoring System) and UP Skill Developmen­t Mission. In recognitio­n category, the prize went to PRERNA (Property Evaluation and Registrati­on Applicatio­n). He released a souvenir “18th anniversar­y of awards” and a book New Era in Digital Governance.
