LUCKNOW : The Women Power Line (WPL) 1090 on Friday launched ‘Hamari Suraksha,’ a digital outreach programme targeted to reach out to people, create awareness and capture data signals to find integrated solutions, said additional director general (ADG) of police, WPL Neera Rawat.

The WPL is a helpline for women to report harassment, cyber-crime, stalking or phonerelated abuse.

Addressing a press conference, the ADG shared a digital outreach roadmap for Digital Chakravyuh (360-degree ecosystem for women’s safety) in Uttar Pradesh. She said the campaign would be phased to cover all net users and amplify outreach among households.

She said the target was to reach households, both rural and urban and students to make them join hands with WPL 1090 through digital platforms and spread awareness about women’s harassment.

She said that the WPL was determined to instil fear in criminals but at the same time it believed that the solution lay in “Impacting the Minds” and bringing about a change.

She said the WPL had a technical edge, having a cross channel digital strategy and a team of data scientists to execute the task of generating awareness among the people of Uttar Pradesh.

She said the WPL had a strategy of targeting probable offenders by sending messages to them after analysing their activities through psychometric profiling and emphasis would be on integration between online and offline actions of the organization.
