Celebrating Valentine’s Day 2021 is not the same like last year. Many youngsters in the city have decided to celebrate the special occasion without much stress and worry. There are different ways Lucknowites have planned to be with their loved ones amid the ongoing crisis.

Student Aanchal Singh, plans to go digital this year.“As V-Day is already here and Covid-19 has made it difficult to celebrate the way we used to every year, so this time I’ll make a musical video of confessing and expressing my love to my valentine.”

Then there are those, for whom, this is going to be their first V-Day. A faculty member at BBD, Ketki Bhangar opted for a virtual dinner. “My husband is living in Delhi and I’m here. So, we have planned for a virtual dinner. We both would be at our favourite restaurants at the same time and enjoy a fine dine on our first V-Day together,” she said.

Youngsters Harshit Tiwari, an entrepreneur, will say it with flowers. “I would have loved to be with love of my life in person over a candle-light dinner and we will for sure meet once vaccinations are done. So, this year dinner is replaced by online delivery of red roses and her favourite cake.”

For student Barkha Bali, creating a romantic picnic at home is best idea. She said, “Though we have started to go out but picnic and all is a distant call. Just transforming your terrace or balcony with lights, candles and enjoy the evening with family and friends.”

Youngster Mohd Taqi Abbas believes that pandemic has taught him to value all relations including family and parents. “I will stay connected with my near ones on the day.”

Another youngster Arpit Jais too plans to celebrate the day with his mother and cook a special meal for her. Student, Nikita Arya wants to be with her pets and take them out. “I’ll be home and take care of my pets as they have been with me through the pandemic and it was due to them, I never felt stressed.”

For Ivy Anand, a professional, Valentine’s Day means being with friends. “I will to go out with my best friend and chill at some restaurant or pub, it’s time to show some love for each other,” she said.
