Corporator from Sarojini Nagar-1 ward Ram Naresh Rawat has alleged neglect of Dalits in top committees of LMC.

He accused mayor Sanyukta Bhatia of ignoring Dalits and favouring high caste corporators when it comes to electing them for executive committee and LDA Board.

Rawat speaking in LMC house said Samajwadi party had send one Dalit corporator in LMC executive committee but BJP ignored Dalit corporators who were more experienced and better performers than those elected for LDA board and LMC executive committee.

Rawat staged a walk out from the house following his speech.

Later, mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said “The names for executive committee and LDA boards are decided by the party. Everyone is allowed to put his point in a democratic set up and Rawat too has the right to raise the issue. I have heard his point seriously and will convey his feelings to the party.”
