Ensure 100% vaccination in coming session, CS tells DMs
LUCKNOW : Expressing concern over the slow pace of Covid vaccination in some districts of UP, chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Monday directed officials to ensure 100% vaccination against the target during the forthcoming session.
He was holding a meeting with all divisional commissioners and district magistrates virtually, through a video conference here to review vaccination and other development projects.
In his address, he said the campaign to vaccinate health and frontline workers was currently on in the state but the pace of vaccination in some districts was slow vis-àvis the target.
He asked officials to prepare the department and office-wise programme of giving vaccine shots to employees.
“Cent per cent vaccination must be ensured during the forthcoming session,” the CS told the officials.
He asked officials to ensure that unnecessary crowd does not converge at any place and permission for taking out rallies etc should be given in such a way that normal movement of traffic was not disrupted. He said arms licences of people, who were suspected to be troublemakers, should be cancelled in view of the coming panchayat elections.
Reviewing the progress of removal of encroachments from ponds and wetlands, Tiwari said it should be ensured that encroachments do not come up again in future. He asked officials to expedite work related to the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Asking officials to make sure that no destitute cattle were seen roaming on roads and in fields, he said the government had cleared 47 of the 66 proposals for setting up of new cow shelters in the state and the rest, he added, would also be approved soon.
The CS said there was scope for sanctioning 54 cow shelters this year and asked districts to send proposals, if they needed any.
