Covid infection rate in UP down to 0.1%

LUCKNOW The Covid infection rate in Uttar Pradesh declined to 0.1% on Tuesday.

In the past 24 hours, 105 fresh cases were reported in the state while 217 patients were discharged, taking the tally of the total number of the people discharged since the start of the Covid pandemic in March last year to 5.90 lakh. No death was reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate was above 98%, said additional chief secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad.

The number of active Covid cases in the state was 2,853 on Tuesday, of which 689 people were in home isolation, 255 were admitted to private hospitals and remaining to state government hospitals. The health teams surveyed 3.14 crore households and 15.27 crore people across the state, Prasad said. Meanwhile, the state capital reported 11 corona cases on Tuesday, while the total number of active cases dropped to 372.

Chief medical officer, Lucknow Dr Sanjay Bhatnagar said, “The best thing is that infection has come down in areas like Indira Nagar, Jankipuram, Chowk, Gomti Nagar and Ashiana . These areas were reporting more than 10 cases every day even last month.No deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.” Presently, there were only 372 active cases in the state capital showing a downward trend of corona in the city, said an official of the health department..
