It’s people’s duty to protect development projects: CM
Yogi Adityanath inaugurates, lays foundation of projects worth over ₹60 crore in Gorakhpur
Stating that his government had launched several development projects across the state, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said it was the responsibility of the citizens to protect them.
People should desist from indulging in activities that harms either the nature or the development projects launched by the state government, he added. Yogi was speaking in an inauguration ceremony of Mahayogi Guru Goraknath ghat and Ram ghat developed in the Rajghat area near river Rapti in Gorakhpur.
The CM also inaugurated a funeral site and a gas-based crematorium plant. He laid the foundation stone for the construction of road from Hubert embankment to Rajghat. Yogi also inaugurated and laid foundation of development projects worth Rs 60.65 crore.
He said earlier people used to think twice before visiting the Rajghat as the place was full of filth and dirt. Besides, the carcasses of animals were also dumped nearby, he added.
“Now the area has been developed with modern facilities. The state government has constructed separate ghats for religious activities and for performing last rites. The pollution in the river Rapti has also been checked,” the CM said.
The cremation site built on the Rajghat will be named Baba Mukteshwar Nath, he said. The CM said the state government had launched several projects for the development of Gorakhpur.
“Water sports facility will be launched at Ramgarh lake. The sea plane will land and take off from the lake. The roads are being converted into four and six lanes. Good roads are the foundation of development. It will give thrust to employment and check migration as well,” he said.
Later, the CM participated in the convocation programme organised by Guru Gorakhnath College of Nursing run by Maharana Pratap Education Council. He said the pandemic had sent a message that the government should complete all preparations in advance to fight it.
The health workers played an important role in protecting the life of the people. The country as well as the state tackled Covid pandemic successfully, he said.
