He said people of UP voted for BJP thinking that it will fulfill its poll promises. But the BJP has forgotten its ‘Sankalp Patra’ after coming to power.

He accused the centre of selling government and said the “UP government is doing the same. What will happen to the Constitution, and what will happen to reservation in jobs, if everything is privatised).

The government says it has to generate Rs 2.5 lakh crore, he said and added: “This much amount the government might have collected from the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel.”

On a query related to BJP president JP Nadda’s proposed visit to Varanasi to inaugurate the Kashi region BJP office, Akhilesh said the government is making BJP offices but is not giving jobs to youths.

He also alleged that criminals are hand-in-glove with the state government.

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement on north-south India, Akhilesh said “no one is south Indian or north Indian, all are Indians.”

He further said the public of UP is waiting for Samajwadis and youths are waiting for distribution of the laptops.

Akhilesh later left for Jaunpur by car. In Jaunpur, Akhilesh slammed chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his comment on wearing of red caps by Samajwadi Party MLAs.

He asked, “Why he (Yogi) is scared of red caps?” and said, “It appears that he might have eaten red chilly in his childhood.” The SP chief, meanwhile, tribute to former MLA late Jwala Prasad Yadav at his native village Jamalpur in Jaunpur. Yadav also visited Chakmirzapur village in Jaunpur, where he called on the kin of Kishan Yadav, who died in police custody a few days ago.

On Friday, Akhilesh will attend a party meeting in Mirzapur and on Saturday he will offer prayers to Sant Ravidas at Sant Ravidas temple in Varanasi.
