117% vaccination turnout in Lko, highest so far
UP sees 64% turnout in round 13 of vaccination
LUCKNOW: A total of 11,086 (117%) of the targeted 9,488 beneficiaries took the jabs in round 13 of the Covid vaccination drive in Lucknow on Thursday. This was the highest turnout so far in all rounds.
Of the beneficiaries who took the vaccine shots, 4,035 were females and 7,051 males. In all, 9,196 were called to take Covishield and 10,540 (115%) took the jab while 292 were called to take Covaxin and 546 (187%) took it, according to the health department. So far, Lucknow got 84,039 beneficiaries vaccinated against a target of 1,31,081, which was 64.11% vaccination.
“Continuous efforts have brought good results in vaccination,” said Dr MK Singh, in-charge of vaccination in Lucknow.
He said no adverse effect after vaccination was reported.
On Friday, 102 vaccination booths will be set up at 40 places to vaccinate over 12,000 beneficiaries, he added.
Across UP, 1.76 lakh health and frontline workers (64%) of the targeted 2.75 lakh took the first dose of the vaccine till 9pm on Thursday, according to official data.
Health workers were given the second dose whereas a mop-up round was organized for frontline workers in all 75 districts, said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, health and family welfare. Those who got the first dose will be given the second on March 25, he added. After vaccination, a link was being sent to the beneficiaries on their registered mobile number with the message of completion of the vaccination. They can download the vaccination certificate, print their certificate or keep it safe in DigiLocker, said Prasad.
