LUCKNOW : Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had received Rs 2100 crore in its bank accounts till Friday during the fund collection campaign for construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri said on Saturday. The funds were raised during the 44-day Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan which began on January 15.
“In the nationwide fund collection campaign, the Trust has received Rs 2100 crore in its bank accounts till Friday (February 26),” said Govind Dev Giri in a statement issued on Saturday evening in Ayodhya.

The funds were raised during the 44-day Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan which began on January 15.
“In the nationwide fund collection campaign, the Trust has received Rs 2100 crore in its bank accounts till Friday (February 26),” said Govind Dev Giri in a statement issued on Saturday evening in Ayodhya.
“The door-to-door campaign ended on Saturday. On Sunday, a thanksgiving procession will be taken out in Ayodhya in which those who have not been able to contribute, could make their contribution,” said Sharad Sharma, Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Ayodhya-based regional spokesperson.
“Similar processions will also be taken out at other places, marking the end of the nationwide fund collection campaign for the Ram temple,” Sharma added. “There is a demand from the devotees of Lord Ram residing abroad to launch such a fund contribution campaign for overseas Indians also,” said Giri.
A decision on how to seek contribution from them would be taken at the next meeting, he added.

FOUNDATION WORK OF RAM TEMPLE
Digging work for laying the foundation of the Ram temple was almost over, said Giri.
In the next 15 days, filling work of the foundation will start, he added.
“In the two-day meeting of the Ram temple construction committee, we discussed development work on the 70- acre campus of Ram Janmabhoomi and the rest of Ayodhya,” said Giri.
“We are committed to developing Ayodhya as the cultural capital of the country,” he added.
