15th IIC discusses UP’s role in agricultur­e & economy

LUCKNOW: Experts discussed the importance of agricultur­e for countries like India, where 25% of the GDP comes from agricultur­e, on day two of the 15th Interdepen­dence, Integratio­n and Co-creation (IIC) 2021 Conference at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow. They said that rightly so, the agricultur­e sector is the highest priority in Uttar Pradesh.

The theme of the first technical session of the second day was ‘From Farm to Table: Agricultur­e and Supply Chain’. The moderator of the session was former UP chief secretary, Alok Ranjan and other speakers were Ayush Nogam, CEO of Distinct Horizon and Sudhakar Tomar, managing director, Hakan Agro DMCC agro.

The second technical session was on ‘Creating the ‘Doing Business’ Pull’. The speakers were AC Pandey, former chief secretary, Uttar Pradesh, Sudeep Goenka, CEO, Shubham

Goldee Masale, Pradeep Misra, CMD, Rudrabhish­ek Enterprise­s Ltd. Speaking on the occasion Pandey said that UP organised one of the most successful investors summit where MoUs worth Rs 4,28,000 crore were signed, 2 ground-breaking ceremonies have happened and investment worth Rs 2,00,000 crore has been initiated.

He added that Samsung decided to set up the largest single mobile factory in Noida, while ITC, Pepsico, Oppo, Vivo, Microsoft and many more have also invested in the state. This summit also helped UP move to second place from 16th in terms of ease of doing business.

Pandey also talked about the role of Udyog Bandhu and Nivesh Mitra which are singlewind­ow systems for investor convenienc­e. He also added that the state has plans to start 21 airports in the next three years which will connect the state not only to the rest of the country but also to other countries leading to an increase in business opportunit­ies.
