Manfest Varchasva: Mgmt students rock at IIM-L fest

LUCKNOW : The second day of IIM-L Manfest Varchasva (MV) was loaded with cultural, musical and literary events. The performanc­es of aspiring managers were adjudged by Bollywood celebritie­s and others. All the events were held online due to COVID-19.

Dance events saw students performing virtually for the final rounds and were adjudged by Rujuta Vaidya, a globally recognized Bollywood choreograp­her.

One of the biggest attraction­s of the day was the band music competitio­n “Stairway to Hell” which was judged by playback singer Amit Sana.

Antarnaad, the short moviemakin­g competitio­n was judged by actor Tanuj Virwani. The themes for videos revolved around many social issues, breaking taboos, and the importance of education.

Fashion show competitio­n JashN was judged by actress and producer Parul Yadav. Poetry competitio­n “Rohan” was another popular event as was “Leaders Express” which saw leaders from diverse background­s share their vision on multiple social issues. The panel comprised of M Hari Menon, director, The Bill and Melinda

Gates Foundation, India Country Office and Sudarshan Suchi, CEO, Save the Children Foundation. They explained how people need to stand for social causes not just for recognitio­n but for change. Poorva Joshipura, vice president of internatio­nal affairs, PETA UK, joined live to discuss how India can be a vegan lifestyle industry leader.

This year’s policy conclave hosted Armstrong Pame, an IAS officer, Amitabh Thakur, an IPS officer, Karuna Nundy, advocate, Supreme Court and Rohit Kumar, founding partner, The Quantum Hub and co-founder, Young Leaders for Active Citizenshi­p.

The event once again provided

the biggest stage for case competitio­ns and business simulation­s for participan­ts from around the nation. The day saw the final rounds of four major events Amlan, ITC call for arms, 7 sins to hell and Stratathon.

The winner of the event completed the entire quiz in 66 hours. Each event had prizes worth over Rs 1 lakh. Teams from the most prestigiou­s colleges of the nation participat­ed in the events. Some of the major colleges that took part were IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIFT, FMS and XLRI.

Comedian and actor Vipul Goyal made everyone laugh their hearts out while KK’s performanc­e left everyonine awestruck.
