167 deaths, 28,287 fresh Covid-19 cases in UP
Total count of coronavirus infection cases in the state now stands at 8,79,831 and the death toll has touched 9,997 since March last year
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh recorded 167 more deaths and 28,287 fresh Covid-19 infection cases across the state in the last 24 hours, according to official data released on Monday.
Besides, the active Covid-19 cases (number of patients under treatment) crossed the two-lakh mark in the state for the first time since the pandemic began. The total count of coronavirus infection cases in the state now stands at 8,79,831 and the death toll has touched 9,997 since March last year. At present, 2,08,523 active cases are under treatment in the state, according to the state health department
data. “In all, 1,06,843 patients are in home isolation and 4,100 are admitted to private hospitals. The remaining are under treatment in government Covid facilities,” said additional chief secretary (information) Navneet Sehgal.

At present, 2,08,523 active cases are under treatment in the state, according to the state health department data.
“In all, 1,06,843 patients are in home isolation and 4,100 are admitted to private hospitals. The remaining are under treatment in government Covid facilities,” said additional chief secretary (information) Navneet Sehgal.
“All MSME units or plants manufacturing oxygen for industrial units have been asked to divert the medical gas for medical use. The oxygen quota for the state has been increased by the central government,” the additional chief
secretary said.
Till now, the state has tested 3,84,67,016 Covid samples, including 2,00,751 in the past 24 hours that had a lakh RT-PCR samples. Till now, 6,61,311 people have recovered in the state. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 75.16%.
