Siddhanth on plasma donation: This is the time to help
Siddhanth Kapoor had tested positive for Covid-19 and soon recovered in December last year. Now, as the second wave of the pandemic takes over the country, there have been desperate appeals for oxygen and plasma to treat those battling it. By donating his plasma, the actor has joined the list of celebs doing their bit amid the crisis.
He tells us, “Everyone should donate plasma if they’re eligible after recovering from Covid-19. It saves people’s lives. It’s not painful, it doesn’t affect you much. We have the wonderful opportunity to save people, so why not?”
The 36-year-old shares that he didn’t have any apprehensions about donating plasma, but many did advise him against it. “A lot of people told me to wait as the situation outside isn’t good. But, I said this is the time when we need to do it, or it would be late,” adds the actor, who also posted a picture from during the donation, urging eligible people to come forward and donate plasma.
Kapoor, meanwhile, is still dealing with the after-effects of the virus attack. Though he tested negative, the symptoms persist. “My sense of taste and smell didn’t return for months. It’s coming back now. I’m taking care of my health, with kadha and slight workout,” he shares. In fact, he had stepped out to work as well, but the second wave disrupted all plans. He reveals, “I was shooting for a project called Bhaukaal (in Lucknow), when this crazy wave came in. The cases in Lucknow were skyrocketing... I also had my film Chehre ready for release in April, but it was pushed due to all this.”
Currently homebound, Kapoor’s aim has been to help more people. “I had a fundraiser and have been personally arranging oxygen for people in need, just to keep myself busy. Apna time acchhe se utilise karo,” he concludes.
