Govt to focus on creating job opportunit­ies

LUCKNOW: The state government will focus on creating job opportunit­ies in rural areas through MNREGA and in urban areas by putting on fast-track industrial and IT Park projects and all investment proposals already cleared, according to a government spokespers­on.

The state government has already approved industrial park projects in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Agra, Moradabad and Azamgarh districts.

In addition to this, the government has approved IT Parks in Bareilly, Lucknow, Aligarh and Saharanpur districts. In Lucknow, the IT Park will come up near the airport at Kanpur road.

Now, the government is planning to start these projects from next month in a bid to generate employment opportunit­ies in this Covid-19 phase when lot of people are losing job and business activities are at an all-time low.

According to the state government, in rural areas jobs will be created through MNREGA immediatel­y and in urban areas through Industrial and IT Park projects. The government is expecting spike in demand for jobs in rural areas across the state.

In addition to this, the government would also expedite all investment proposals to generate employment. According to the government, investors would be asked to expedite their projects. All investment proposals in pipeline would also be cleared on priority basis.

It may be pointed out that last month the state government had allocated 199848 sq metre land in Noida to 13 industrial houses, including the Adani group, which will invest Rs 3870 crore.

This combined investment will generate employment to around 48512 people.

Satish Mahana, Industrial Developmen­t minister in the state government, informed that 39,146 sq metre land had been allocated to the Adani Group in Noida.

The company will invest Rs 2500 crore to set up data centre which will ensure employment for 1160 people.

Further informing about the state government’s decision, Mahana stated that the government has allocated 21000 sq metre land to Dixon Technologi­es Limited to set up a cell phone manufactur­ing unit in Noida.

Now, after allocation of land the state government has asked all these investors to start their projects at the earliest.

The government has assured all help to them in rolling out projects.
