-

LUCKNOW : In the wake of the pandemic when people have to stay home, a huge e-library set up at Lucknow University’s (LU) Tagore library for over a month now is proving to be a boon for its students and other university fraternity.

The e-library contains more than 9,273 e-books, 12 databases, journals of international publishers like Springer-Nature, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Pearson, LexisNexis, SCC online and others. Besides, the facility is also providing access to several research portals. These resources can be accessed via the university’s IP address within the campus and also off the campus through remote login.

“The online e-resources can directly be accessed either by clicking the link ‘Access E Resources of Tagore Library’ located under ‘online study materials for students’ available on homepage of the LU or via ‘cyber library’ page also located on the homepage under ‘library’ hyperlink,” said Durgesh Srivastav, the spokesman for Lucknow University.

“The library has also extended its services to its community beyond the physical boundaries of the campus by providing them remote access facility. This facility proved a boon for users as they could follow their academic pursuit during the crisis period. Users are making full use of the remote access facility,” he said.

“So far, close to 3 lakh hits have been recorded as usage statistics for e-library via remote access. Requests for login credentials from users are being received continuously by the library. As of now, login credentials for more than 6,000 users have been generated,” Srivastav added.

Tagore library is also planning to upgrade its digital services by organising virtual exhibitions, highlighting content on the websites and ‘let’s read together’ online campaign in coming days.
