En route to fitness and calmer life
The FICCI Flo Lucknow Chapter recently organised a unique workshop InstaOxygen designed to help all to deal with the ongoing pandemic with a calm mind, healthy lungs and more robust immune system.
The main objective of the workshop was to educate on how to live a healthy life physically as well as mentally. The workshop was moderated by senior trainers from Art of Living including, celebrity stylist Ami Patel who has worked with Bollywood stars along with known expert Samarth Narayan. The aim was to teach the members and viewers to master the art of meditation by adding simple pranayama and asanas to their daily routine that will help the body fight the disease and infection in the long run.
During the 45-minute session, the two experts talked about yoga routines, pranayama, mindful meditation, healthy diet, mental health and many related topics. Their focus was to train people in pulse purification pranayama, sudarshan kriya, bhrastika and bhramari pranayama.
Addressing the program, Lucknow chapter chairperson Arushi Tandon said, “Most people don’t know the importance of meditation. Meditation
gives us an opportunity to wholly connect with our body and mind. We can feel our breathing pattern and witness the good thoughts flowing in us. During the process all parts of the body work in synchronization and our mind becomes calm and happy.”
“Since last two years the deadly virus has unbelievably changed our lives and today, we are in need to keep our self all fit and healthy to combat not only with the virus but also cope with mental stress the pandemic has caused. Keeping mentally and physically fit through yoga is imperative for both prevention as well as recovery from the infection; we need to stay fit to overcome the challenges of the pandemic,” she added.
Some postures and breathing techniques, as well as other important information was taught that made the attending members all relaxed, calm, happy and more confident.
The session was conducted by Lucknow member Rohit Suri. Members of the group from across the country including senior vice chairperson Simu Ghai, Madhuri Halwasiya, Swati Verma, Vandita Agarwal participated in the program. The session was also broadcast on Facebook.
