13.61 lakh in 18-45 age group vaccinated: CM
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said 13,61,550 (13.61 lakh) people in the 18-45 years’ age group had received the Covid-19 vaccine in the state so far. He also said 1,47,048 (1.47 lakh) people were inoculated on Tuesday.
Vaccination of people in the age group of 18 to 45 will begin in all 75 districts from June 1. Previously, it was being done in 23 districts for this age group. Apart from vaccination centres for members of the judicial services and media representatives, two centres should be established in all districts for teachers and state employees, he said to officials.
Vaccination of teachers, government employees, bank workers, etc. should be done at the earliest, he added.
He said ventilators and oxygen concentrators had been provided in all districts.
Deployment of anaesthesiologists and technicians for ventilator operations had also been done, the chief minister said.
As more personnel would be required, youths from ITIs may be trained, he said.
In the last 24 hours, 663 metric tonnes of oxygen was distributed, out of which 396 MT was made available for refilling, he said. He said given the availability of oxygen, industrial units should be allowed to use oxygen. Industrial activities should be kept normal, he added.
He said the Meteorological Department had predicted impact of the cyclonic storm in some areas of the state and said necessary preparations should be done in this regard.
