MoU signed: AKTU to give financial aid to UPSIFS
LUCKNOW: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Technical University (AKTU) on Friday in presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
A state government spokesperson said, under the MoU, the AKTU will provide financial assistance in the form of Rs 200 crore loan at zero percent interest to UPSIFS for cooperation in the field of technology and studies for a period of 20 years.
This amount will be paid by UPSIFS in 10 installments at a rate of Rs 20 crore annually to AKTU from eleventh year after the end of ten years from the date of the signing MoU.
This MoU was signed by the additional director general of police, technical services on behalf of the Home Department, he said.
The main objective of the UPSIFS is to impart new education, training and research in the fields of police administration, forensic science, behavioural sciences, technology and management.
The affiliation of the institute will be taken from NFSU.
The MoU will facilitate cooperation and partnership between UPSIFS and AKTU to provide innovative education, training and research in the fields of science and technology, development of UPSIFS as centre of excellence, centre of innovation, both the institutes gain with facilities and technologies.
The UPSIFS is being constructed by the state government over 50 acres land in Sarojni Nagar, Lucknow.
A centre of excellence is being set up by the NFSU on five-acre area on the campus to provide modern facilities and technology in the field of scientific crime investigation.
