MoU signed: AKTU to give financial aid to UPSIFS

LUCKNOW: A memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) was signed between Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Technical University (AKTU) on Friday in presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

A state government spokespers­on said, under the MoU, the AKTU will provide financial assistance in the form of Rs 200 crore loan at zero percent interest to UPSIFS for cooperatio­n in the field of technology and studies for a period of 20 years.

This amount will be paid by UPSIFS in 10 installmen­ts at a rate of Rs 20 crore annually to AKTU from eleventh year after the end of ten years from the date of the signing MoU.

This MoU was signed by the additional director general of police, technical services on behalf of the Home Department, he said.

The main objective of the UPSIFS is to impart new education, training and research in the fields of police administra­tion, forensic science, behavioura­l sciences, technology and management.

The affiliatio­n of the institute will be taken from NFSU.

The MoU will facilitate cooperatio­n and partnershi­p between UPSIFS and AKTU to provide innovative education, training and research in the fields of science and technology, developmen­t of UPSIFS as centre of excellence, centre of innovation, both the institutes gain with facilities and technologi­es.

The UPSIFS is being constructe­d by the state government over 50 acres land in Sarojni Nagar, Lucknow.

A centre of excellence is being set up by the NFSU on five-acre area on the campus to provide modern facilities and technology in the field of scientific crime investigat­ion.
