Every district to have 2 women special vaccination camps
IN THE STATE, 90,23,426 MEN AND 67,76,794 WOMEN HAVE TAKEN THE FIRST DOSE OF COVID VACCINE TILL NOW.
Women special vaccination booths will come up at all 75 districts of the state from June 7. “It has been observed that women come out less in number for vaccination and hence to motivate them we are going to start women special vaccination booths along with parents’ special vaccination booths,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical health on Thursday. In the state, 90,23,426 men and 67,76,794 women have taken the first dose of Covid vaccine till now. A difference of 22,46,632 between male and female beneficiaries shows that women are perhaps less keen on taking the jab.
Under the plan for women special booth, each district will have at least two special booths (150 overall) that shall come up at women hospitals and combined hospitals in the districts.
Women can book their slots at these booths available in two categories of 18 and 45 years of age and above 45 years of age. Women beneficiaries can also book slots in other vaccination booths, along with other beneficiaries as they are presently doing. Meanwhile, the daily case positivity rate in the state is less than 0.5% and the overall positivity rate in the state is 3.4%, said Prasad.
“It has been observed that many people are not turning up for their second dose of the vaccine on due date. I appeal to all to take their second dose of the vaccine as well,” said Prasad.
