Complete Purvanchal E-way by July-August: CM
YOGI SAID THERE SHOULD BE ADEQUATE LIGHT ON THE EXPRESSWAYS, AND REGULAR PATROLLING AND AVAILABILITY OF AMBULANCE SHOULD BE ENSURED
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials concerned to complete the construction of Purvanchal Expressway by July- August and of Bundelkhand Expressway by October- November.
Yogi issued these directives while taking stock of the progress of Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Ganga Expressway and Gorakhpur Link Expressway projects in a meeting held at his official residence on Friday evening.
He told the officials to complete the construction of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway on schedule and expedite acquisition of land for Ganga Expressway to start its construction after foundation in September–October. The state expressway will pave way for development in the backward region and it will also generate employment, the CM said.
The prospects of industrialisation will increase in the area covered by the expressways and with this business and industrial activities will also increase in the state. The public utility facilities, petrol pumps and restaurants should be set up on the expressways, he said.
Yogi said the focus should be on safety and security of the people moving on the expressways. There should be adequate light on the expressways, regular patrolling should be conducted there and ambulance should be available.
“Besides, local arts and culture of the districts through which the expressway is passing should be highlighted on both sides of the expressways,” he said.
“The companies constructing the expressways should construct a smart classroom in villages near which the expressway is passing. They should also involve local villagers in plantation work,” Yogi said.
Chief executive officer, UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), Awanish Kumar Awasthi made a presentation on the expressway and briefed the CM about the progress of the construction work there.
