Commercial tax dept holds seminar on women’s health issues
LUCKNOW : The state commercial tax department organised a seminar on women’s health issues as a part of the state government’s ongoing “Mission Shakti” campaign to empower women here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, commercial tax commissioner Ministhy S said the more women became aware of their health issues the more empowered they will become.
“Women tend to ignore their health and give priority to others. Therefore, we thought of empowering our women team members during the ongoing ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign,” she added. Dr Amita Pandey, professor, department of obstetrics and gynaecology, KGMU, Lucknow, and Dr Shivanjali Raghuvanshi, associate professor, KGMU conducted the seminar. This was first-of-its-kind seminar on women’s health organised by the department. It was attended by over 100 women officers and staff members in the headquarters of the commercial tax department and also by over 1,000 women officers and staff members throughout all offices of the department online.
Meanwhile, the commercial tax department will set up one “women entrepreneur help desk” each in all its zonal offices across the state to guide female traders and entrepreneurs on subjects like registration, filling of returns and all other issues related to the GST. Ministhy S has issued a circular to all zonal commissioners asking them to make arrangements for the setting up help desks in their offices in keeping with the government’s ongoing “Mission Shakti” campaign to empower women.
