MAYA TO ADDRESS BRAHMIN CONFERENCE TODAY
LUCKNOW : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati will address the Brahmin conference—Prabuddh Varg Vichar Goshti—in the party’s state unit office on Tuesday to give thrust to the party’s plan to win the support of the upper caste community in the 2022 UP assembly election.
The BSP chief is likely to counter rival political parties—the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress’ plan to woo the Brahmin community voters. “The BSP strategy to activate the social engineering formula DalitBrahmin alliance has forced the rival political parties to organise the Brahmin conference,” said a BSP leader.
The Lucknow conference will mark the culmination of the “Prabuddh Varg Vichar Goshti” (intellectuals’ conference) launched by the BSP at Ayodhya on July 23. Party’s national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra addressed a series of these conferences organised in all 75 districts of the state.
“The large turnout in Prabuddh Varg Vichar Goshti in all the districts clearly shows the support base of the BSP among the Brahmin community,” said Mishra.
Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati lauded the farmer unions’ effort of reviving Hindu-Muslim communal harmony in the mahapanchayat organised at Muzaffarnagar on Sunday.
“The mahapanchayat will help in healing the wounds of the horrific riots that took place under the Samajwadi Party government in 2013 but it will also make some parties uncomfortable,” she said.
