Success as well as failure is a part of the journey. I (strongly believe) if there is a down, there will be an up.

ANANYA PANDAY, Actor

Life is a mix of right and wrong, and Ananya Panday wants that to reflect in her career as well as her personal life. The actor says she is not afraid of failing or making mistakes, but instead wants to accept them and move on.

“Success as well as failure is part of the journey. I (strongly believe) if there is a down, there will be an up; if there is up, there will be down,” says the actor, who recently wrapped up Shakun Batra’s untitled film, which features her alongside Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Panday made her acting debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, and followed it up with Pati Patni Aur Woh the same year. Her second movie, Khaali Peeli, which opened on a digital platform last year owing to the pandemic, didn’t elicit the expected response, but she says she’s detached to the idea of success or failure. “One has to be neutral when both happen,” she muses.

The 22-year-old says, “When I entered showbiz, there was nothing (about the industry or experiences) that I was prepared for. Everything was new to me, every experience has been new.”

While many believe the daughter of actor Chunky Panday had it easy in showbiz considering her “star kid” tag, She was trolled for being from a filmy family, mocked for comments in interviews, and also body-shamed for her fashion choices.

And she picks the subject of fashion to reveal how she tackles such things, saying, “It is kind of funny because I am less conscious now. I know there are a lot of younger people out there who look up to me and try to dress like me. That is why I started putting out this message to come the way you are, dress the way you want to, wear what makes you comfortable and makes you happy,” says the actor. Her funda? ‘Have fun, make mistakes, and laugh it off.
