Two more arrested in NEET examination solver gang case

VARANASI : A day after a solver gang was busted with the arrest of two women in Varanasi, two more persons were detained from Pandeypur area of Varanasi on Tuesday, police said.
Commissioner of police A Satish Ganesh said that Osama Shahid, a resident of Mohadabad Gohna area in Mau District of UP, and Abhay Kumar Mehta, a resident of Patna, were arrested from the area near Doga Baba Mandir at Pandeypur intersection.
Abhay is the brother of Julie Kumari, one of the women arrested on Sunday. Police said that Julie had appeared in place of Hena Biswas in the NEET examination.
Julie and her mother Babita Devi, were arrested from a NEET examination centre at St Francis’ Xavier School, Tadia Sona Talab in Varanasi on Sunday, while Mahto had managed to flee.
Accused Shahid has appeared in the final examination of the fourth year of MBBS from KGMU Lucknow.
Police said that a copy of 15 admit cards, four photographs, four cargo courier receipts, and two mobile phones containing chats of solver gang, details of bank transactions were recovered from the possession of Shahid.
Commissioner said that both the accused were interrogated. During interrogation, the accused gave some important clues about the members of this inter-state gang from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other states. Police teams have been formed for their arrest.
