UP STF nabs exam regulatory authority clerk for colluding with solver gang

PRAYAGRAJ: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) nabbed a clerk of the Exam Regulatory Authority, Prayagraj, on charges of aiding and abetting solver gangs involved in cheating during trained graduate teachers (TGT) / post-graduate teachers (PGT) recruitmen­ts and Teacher Eligibilit­y Test (TET) by producing fake documents.

The accused, Narendra Kanaujia of village Chakdevra-ka-Kanaila under Naini police station was arrested near Civil Lines bus stand late Friday night, informed STF officials.

Shukla informed that as part of an ongoing crackdown against solver gangs involved in getting individual­s recruited as teachers based on fake documents, managing exam centres for facilitati­ng the use of unfair means, to entering into a nexus with firms engaged in exam result preparatio­ns and getting candidates illegally qualified in the TGT/PGT recruitmen­ts and TET exams, three persons of a gang, including its leader, were nabbed by special task force on Friday.

The gang leader had worked as a teacher at a junior high school, while one of the cohorts was presently employed as a primary school teacher. During investigat­ion and interrogat­ion of those nabbed, it emerged that the gang had some staff of Exam Regulatory Authority, Prayagraj, working hand in glove with them, the CO said.

2 more held in solver gang case in Kashi

VARANASI: Two more persons were arrested in connection with the NEET solver gang case, in Varanasi on Saturday. The accused identified as Vikas Kumar Mahto and Raju Kumar were arrested from near DUDA office. Both were the residents of Khagaria and Jehanabad districts in Bihar, police said. “Some important documents, a laptop, a mobile phone, entrance cards and photograph­s related to the NEET (National Eligibilit­y cum Entrance Test) have been recovered from the arrested persons,” said commission­er of police (CP) A Satish Ganesh while confirming the arrests.

In all, six people have been arrested in this case so far, the police official said. The kingpin of the gang Prem Kumar alias PK was still at large and a search for him was on, the CP said.
