Opposition parties misleading masses: UP BJP chief

-

LUCKNOW: Celebrating the four-and-a-half years of the Yogi Adityanath government on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that while it was speaking of development, the Opposition parties were in the grip of “Yogi phobia.”

The term “Yogi phobia” was coined by UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh to define the Opposition attack on the Yogi Adityanath government.

“Our government has so many achievements to its credit. But the Opposition is in the grip of Yogi phobia and is engaging in a meaningless campaign aimed more towards misleading masses,” Swatantra Dev Singh said.

He claimed that the main Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) had lost the moral right to speak against the government. “The SP is speaking out against the government simply because it (the government) has launched a campaign against crime and criminals who were nurtured during their regime. Proof of this is the Yogi government freeing government land worth more than Rs 1800 crore that was encroached upon in previous regimes. Besides, ill-gotten properties of mafia were demolished,” state BJP chief said. The state BJP chief also took a dig at Congress.

“Those who failed to save their bastions are now engaging in political tourism,” he said, while targeting Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is also her party’s UP in-charge.

“Priyankaji is perhaps unaware that under Yogiji’s stewardship, more than 4.5 lakh government recruitments were done, jobs were created for more than 30 lakh youths and arrears of sugarcane farmers were cleared. The women of this state very well know that they are most secure under Yogiji’s regime,” the UP BJP chief said.
