Apprenticeship Mela in all 75 districts of UP on Oct 4
LUCKNOW : The state government will organise an Apprenticeship Mela at the district nodal ITIs in all 75 districts of UP on October 4, in accordance with the central government’s guidelines to organise such events acr oss the country on the said date.
The Mela is a step towards improving awareness about the state government’s employment policy, registration on the NAPS portal and to meet potential apprentices at the district nodal ITIs. To enhance employment prospects, the UP government will provide training to youths under the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. Secretary, technical and vocational education, Alok Kumar said, “Uttar Pradesh recognises the apprenticeship scheme as an essential ‘learning while earning’ programme for youth. The state government is committed to providing trainingbased employment to youth through CM’s Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (CM-APS, 2020) that has the potential to solve our skill and employability challenge.” Kunal Silku, mission director, UP Skill Development Mission and director training and employment added, “We have successfully registered a significant number of ITI students on NAPS portal for the scheme. This Apprenticeship Mela will be an ideal opportunity for both to interact freely.”
Rightwalk Foundation is the project management unit for the implementation of the scheme in UP. “So far, we have registered over 75,000 apprentices and 850 establishments on the NAPS portal,” said Samina Bano, founder and CEO of the foundation.
