IIT-K launches 4 eMasters programmes

LUCKNOW : The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) on Wednesday announced the launch of four new online postgradua­te programmes to enable seamless e-learning for working profession­als.

These eMasters programmes will provide a virtual learning environmen­t that will deliver course content completely online and help working profession­als in upskilling with industry experience and expand their career options. The four eMasters programmes are in communicat­ion systems, cyber security, power sector regulation; economics and management and derivative­s market and risk management.

Announcing the launch, Professor Abhay Karandikar, director, IIT-K, said: “IIT Kanpur is a pioneer in offering highqualit­y education, conducting impactful research and providing leadership in technologi­cal innovation­s. Our executive education certificat­ion programmes are highly popular among working profession­als looking to upskill and gain domain expertise.” The 60 credit and 12 module industryfo­cused curriculum offers flexible completion timelines (one to three years), IIT-K alumni status, access to IIT-K’s placement cell, alumni network, and incubation cell, he said.

The director said, “The credits earned during the programme can also be transferre­d to an advanced degree (regular M Tech. or Ph D) at IIT-K by a participan­t selected to pursue the advanced degree and subject to senate approval. Corporates can also sponsor the programmes for their employees.”
