UP POLICE HAS DECLARED A REWARD OF RS 5 LAKH ON THE ARREST OF RASHID AND HIS BROTHER

PRAYAGRAJ : CBI may soon extradite Shine City director Rashid Naseem and his brother who are hiding in Dubai. Rashid Naseem is accused of duping multi crore rupees of people on pretext of investments in his company Shine City. While many of company’s officials have been arrested recently in different raids, Rashid Naseem his brother and some other accused are still out of police net.

Uttar Pradesh police has declared a reward of Rs 5 lakh on the arrest of Rashid and his brother after High Court pulled up state police for failing to arrest them.

The passports of Rashid and Asif have been canceled and now Economic Offence Wing has sent its report to CBI for their extradition. “Action against Rashid Naseem, his brother Asif and other officials of shine City has gained pace. CBI was requested for his extradition following which further formalities are being completed” said a senior EOW official requesting anonymity.

Residents of Kareli area of Prayagraj, Rashid Naseem and his brother Asif have registered a company with the name of Shine City and established its branch offices across the state and even outside. The company invited investments on pretext of property, jewelry, bit coin etc from hundreds of people across the country but did not gave them returns and duped them of multi crore rupees. At-least 284 cases of fraud were lodged against Shine City and its officials across the state which is being investigated by Economic Offence Wing.

EOW officials with help of local police arrested many officials and agents of Shine City accused of fraud and sent them to jail. Investigations revealed that Rashid and his close kin are hiding in Dubai. He also took a meeting with other officials of Shine City through video conferencing around a month back.

It is worth mentioning that around two years back, Rashid Naseem and some of his aides were detained in Nepal for alleged frauds committed there. However, he escaped to Dubai after being released and since then remained untraceable. A day back, Varanasi crime branch arrested former Varanasi head of Shine City Rajeev Singh from a hotel in jaipur where he was living on another identity. Rajeev had many cases lodged against him in Lucknow and Varanasi.
