Pooja tests positive for Covid-19: I choose to stay unvaccinated
In an Instagram video on Sunday evening, actor Pooja Bedi informed that she has tested positive for Covid-19 and shared that her businessman-fiance Maneck Contractor and their house help too have contracted the virus. “It is so infectious and everyone, at some point, is going to get it. Well, voila! Seems that I have now caught it. I have tested positive,” she said.
The 51-year-old actor also stated that she hopes that her “natural immunity” will help her recover. She also wrote a post that read: “I chose/ choose to stay unvaccinated as it’s my personal decision to allow my own natural immunity and alternative healing and wellness practices to accelerate my healing.
You do what’s right for you. Each to their own. Caution. Not panic (sic).”
Bedi drew flak online and from people in Goa when she travelled to the state in the peak of the pandemic last year. In reply, she wrote, “I love Goa! It’s my home too! I refuse to be a soft target for embittered, jealous, fearful & narrow minded people. They should know facts... before they attack.!!! (sic).”
And in April this year, Bedi shared a video of herself enjoying a speed boat ride and wrote that life was meant to be lived without fear. “Joys of living in healthy, happy #goa. Free your mind #NoFear Life is meant to be lived…not spent caged and masked for a year/ years in fear of a virus that’s clearly not going away! If you died tomorrow after year of masking/lockdown.. what would ur greatest regret be? (sic),” she wrote. She was heavily criticised for it.
