BJP will now gain majority in UP legislative council: Yogi Adityanath

With a thumping majority in the legislative council as well as the assembly, the government would be able to do even better work in the interest of public welfare, women’s safety and self-reliance, employment of youth, he added.
Yogi said, “We formed government with two-thirds majority under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi in the 2017 and 2022 polls. This will be probably the first time that the ruling party will have a majority in the state legislative council.”
Yogi also said in 2017, the government had to face difficulties due to numbers in Upper House. The SP used to create hurdles in development works and public welfare programmes.
The CM went on to say that assets worth ₹2500 crore had been seized from professional mafia. If the land did not belong to the reserved category, then the poor should be given a lease there.
