Focus on creation of jobs, Adityanath tells agriculture and allied depts
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the agriculture and allied departments to focus on creation of job opportunities for people while starting projects and ensuring that all such projects and schemes were completed in a time-bound manner.
Presiding over a meeting here, where agriculture and related departments gave presentations on the works they would do in next 100 days, the CM said every department would have to present its report card to the public after 100 days.
“There is no dearth of funds for schemes but fiscal discipline is must,” he cautioned.
The chief minister said the government was committed to bringing about qualitative increase in the income of farmers as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The CM’s directives:
*All preparations for safety against flood should be completed before June 15.
*Make a solid action plan to increase production of edible oils and pulses in the state considering the fact that UP produced only 30-35% and 40-45% of its requirement, respectively. Involve small and marginal farmers in this task.
*Create an appropriate atmosphere to have an environmentsensitive agriculture system in next five years.
*Make efforts to develop each agriculture science centre into a centre of excellence.
*Simplify crop insurance survey procedure and create awareness among farmers.
*Promote organic farming along the banks of the Ganga in 35 districts.
*Set up block-level clusters on 500-1000 hectares of land with each cluster to have a champion farmer.
*Launch a drive to rectify data related to PM-Kisan beneficiaries. Complete e-KYC of beneficiaries by May 31 and also take steps for recovery from bogus beneficiaries.
*Identify exportable crops in each district to start a scheme similar to the ‘one district one product’ scheme.
*Identify land along expressways to set up mandis and prepare a policy to set up food processing units in mandis.
*Try to clear cane dues worth Rs 8,000 crore in next 100 days and Rs 12,000 crore in six months.
*Establish a sugar complex with multi-feed distillery at Chata in Mathura.
*Start work for setting up centers of excellence for fruits and vegetables, based on Israeli technology, one each in Chandauli and Kaushambi..
