BJP, allies participate in anniv events across state
LUCKNOW: Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies -- Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Nishad party -participated in BR Ambedkar birth anniversary events across the state on Thursday.
The BJP has annually celebrated the day but this time, the occasion that came just over a month after the party’s spectacular win in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, saw bigger celebrations.
While chief minister Yogi Adityanath participated in several events and hailed the contribution of Ambedkar in ensuring a society of equals, his ministers held functions across the state.
UP BJP vice president Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in the run up to Ambedkar’s anniversary, the party has been distributing fruits and food among the needy.

Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were in Bareilly and Kanpur on the occasion.

(Kannauj), Arun Saxena (Lalitpur), Jitin Prasada (Unnao), Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary (Ambedkarnagar), Nandgopal Gupta Nandi (Prayagraj), Sandeep Singh (Sultanpur) and Daya Shankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ (Amethi).
Union minister Mahendra Nath Pandey was present in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Smriti Irani was in Varanasi, BL Verma (Bulandshahr), VK Singh (Meerut), Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’ (Shahjahanpur), Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti (Jhansi), Bhanu Pratap Singh (Banda), Satyapal Singh Baghel (Etawah), Kaushal Kishore (Sitapur), Sanjeev Kumar Balyan (Bahraich), Pankaj Chaudhary (Chandauli), Rajkumar Chachar, national chief of BJP Kisan Morcha (Muzaffarnagar), BJP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Arun Singh (GB Nagar), Basti MP Harish Dwivedi (Maharajganj) and BJP vice president Vijay Bahadur Pathak (Azamgarh) were among several leaders who participated in Ambedkar anniversary events. BJP ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) leader Ashish Patel also paid tributes to Ambedkar as did Sanjay Nishad, the Nishad party leader. Both Ashish and Sanjay are ministers in Yogi government.
