LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party (SP) said on Saturday that it would move court against the BJP government over the “bulldozing of properties in an unconstitutional manner”.

In a tweet in Hindi the party said: “Instead of serving people through power, the BJP government, in an unconstitutional manner, demolishing properties of rivals and people who have non-BJP ideologies. The SP will move court against the BJP government. The judiciary must put a stop to the illegal action in UP the way it stopped it in Delhi. Socialists will continue to struggle”.

The SP also announced that it would send a delegation each to three different places in the state--over the next three days-to meet the victims and probe crime and ‘bulldozing’ incidents. On Sunday, a delegation would go to Prayagraj to probe the incident of murders of five of a family. On Monday and Tuesday, delegations would go to Shahjahanpur to probe the district administration’s action of demolition of a building of SP leader Roshan Lal Verma and to Bareilly to probe the bulldozing of SP MLA Shahzil Islam’s petrol pump.

In Prayagraj, the SP delegation would meet Sunil Yadav’s family, five members of which were murdered in Kheverajpur village, said a party statement. A former UP minister and former SP MLA Durga Prasad Yadav would lead the six-member delegation to the Prayagraj village.

Another statement by SP alleged that under political vendetta, the building of former SP candidate Roshan Lal Verma was demolished without serving him any notice. A nine-member delegation led by SP leader and former minister Hemraj Verma would visit Shahjahanpur to probe the incident.

On Tuesday, a delegation led by Sanjay Lathar will visit Bareilly to probe the demolition of a petrol pump owned by SP MLA Shahzil Islam.

“The SP delegation would also meet the district magistrate the same day regarding the incident,” said the SP statement.
