Bengaluru to host Ranji Trophy knockout matches from June 4

MUMBAI: Bengaluru will host the Ranji Trophy knockout matches, starting with the quarterfin­als from June 4, with the final set to be played from June 20. The league stage of the Ranji Trophy was played before the start of the ongoing IPL and BCCI had said that the knockouts would be played after the T20 league.

It is understood that there will be no compulsory quarantine for the players but bio-bubble will be maintained. The teams and the players will have to submit a negative RT-PCR report on their arrival at the venue.

The four quarterfin­als will be played from June 4-8.

Bengal will take on Jharkhand in the first quarterfin­al. Fourtyone-time Ranji champions Mumbai are up against Uttarakhan­d while Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh will square off in the third quarterfin­al. The fourth quarterfin­al will be played between Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.

The two semifinals will be played from June 12 to 16, while the summit clash of the prestigiou­s domestic championsh­ip will be played from June 20.

BCCI invites quotations for women’s T20 meet

MUMBAI: BCCI announced the release of Request for Quotations for title sponsorshi­p rights For Women’s T20 Challenge 2022. According to an official release, the detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process including the process for submission­s of quotes, rights and obligation­s, etc. are contained in the ‘Request for Quotation’ (”RFQ”) which will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of ₹1,00,000. The RFQ will be available for purchase till May 4, 2022.

“Any interested party wishing to submit a quote is required to purchase the RFQ. However, only those satisfying the terms and conditions set out therein shall be permitted to submit a quote. It is clarified that merely purchasing the RFQ does not entitle any person to submit a quote,” stated the release.
