Sona slams trolls judging Ira’s bikini pics: Doesn’t need her dad’s approval
Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan recently celebrated her 25th birthday with a pool party. She shared several pictures from the party, on Instagram, where she was seeing cutting her birthday cake wearing a bikini and enjoying a dip in the pool with her family and friends. However, these pictures didn’t go down well with a section of users, who trolled Ira for wearing a bikini around her father. Coming to her defence was singer Sona Mohapatra, who attended Ira’s birthday celebrations.
Pictures from the celebrations, which were attended by Aamir, his exwives, Reena Dutta and filmmaker Kiran Rao, Ira’s brother Azad Rao Khan and her boyfriend Nupur Shikhare among others, saw many dig out Aamir’s comments on “intolerant India” and call out his daughter for flaunting a bikini.
On Monday night, Mohapatra, came out in her support and slammed haters telling them to “buzz off”. She took to social media and wrote, “All the people outraging about Ira Khan’s choice of attire or linking it to what #AamirKhan said, did or didn’t in the past please note; she is 25. A free, thinking, adult woman. Is exercising her choices. Doesn’t need her dad’s approval or yours. BUZZ off. #Patriachy #India. (sic)”
The moment she shared this, several fans took to the comments section to support her and Ira. One wrote, “People didn’t realise it’s a pool party. That’s an appropriate attire for a pool party. Everyone was wearing enough clothes to enjoy the water.” Another commented, “I appreciate your openness and their freedom and choices of enjoying life.”
