Sukhwinder: Life partner ki need toh tab feel hogi na jab hai hi nahi

- Rishabh Suri

Sukhwinder Singh is making a comeback to crooning romantic and upbeat tunes, but what about the romance in his own life? While he enjoys a circle of friends and well-wishers, there’s been speculation about the absence of a life partner — until now. Singh surprises us by saying, “Kami toh tab feel hogi na jab hai hi nahi!”

He confesses that he now has someone special in his life. “When it comes to marriage, zaroori nahi hai ki jinke bade jashn nahi hote, voh shaadi nahi karte! Karte hain na? Don’t they? There are many celebrities who tie the knot without making a fuss about it. Some relationships are delicate, and there’s no need to showcase them,” shares the 52-year-old, known for chart-toppers like

Haule Haule (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), Jai Ho (Slumdog Millionaire, both 2008) and Udi Udi Jaaye (Raees, 2016).

Singh once joked in a 2017 interview that if he didn’t get married that year, he’d “jump into a well and die”. However, he doesn’t recall making such a statement when asked about it. As for why he chooses to keep his partner’s identity under wraps, he explains, “It’s my privacy, that’s all. There’s no hiding involved. When an artist finds someone who respects their freedom of thought, that relationship lasts forever. Artists are unique individuals. Mujhe rishton ko limelight mein daalne ka shauk nahi hai.”

On the work front, Singh is excited about an “energetic” track he’s sung for the upcoming film Gabru Gang and is gearing up to release an album in May.

Mujhe rishton ko limelight mein daalne ka shauk nahi hai. It’s my privacy.
