HARYANA RAISES AGE LIMIT FOR GOVT JOBS TO 42

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government on Monday decided to increase the age limit for entry into government service by two years thus raising it to 42.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the state cabinet presided over by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here.

Later interacting with mediapersons, Hooda said the decision had been taken on public demand as it was felt that grant of two years of re-employment to the government employees after the superannuation of retirement, the retirement of the employee was likely to be seized for two years. As a result of it, there would be fewer chances of government jobs for unemployed persons. Therefore, it would be in the interest of unemployed persons to grant them similar benefit to apply for government jobs by raising the age limit for entry into government service from 40 to 42 years across all categories.

The cabinet also decided to grant pay-scales to its employees and pension to its pensioners on Punjab pattern with effect from November 1, 2014. Hooda said also, now the government employees would retire at the age of 60 years instead of 58 as the cabinet had approved to increase the age of retirement on superannuation by two years for all categories of posts, but in case of class 4 posts, this age limit would be 62 years.

TOLL POINT CLOSED

The cabinet decided to close toll point TP-28 Bhattu LudesarJamal Road, which is up to the Rajasthan border.

The decision to close the toll point was taken because the average daily collection was merely ` 9,241 which came out to about ` 33.7 lakh per annum. It may be recalled that earlier also, the government had decided to close 10 tolls as their collection was less than ` 50 lakh per annum.
