-

CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, on the issue of governors being transferred and some offering to quit, has said the dignity of the office of governors should be upheld and one must care for the culture of this institution.

Hooda, who was talking to the media after the cabinet meeting on Monday said a governor had approached even the Supreme Court, therefore, one should wait. When asked to comment on the result of the bypolls in some states, Hooda said after the Lok Sabha polls, the expectations of people were turning into disappointments and that he would form the government for the third time.

On promise made by the INLD to give social security pension of

` 1,250 if voted to power, Hooda said his government had done more than what it had promised.

RELIEF TO FARMERS

Hooda said those farmers who take short-term loans from cooperative banks and would pay their loan on time, the government would exempt them from paying the interest. In case of long-term loans, if the farmers paid their loan on time, the government would pay 50% of their interest. He said it had been decided to waive loans worth to ` 154 crore taken by 1.25 lakh beneficiaries, including to those from Scheduled Castes and backward classes, from Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation and Welfare of Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Corporation up to March 31, 2013.

It is decided to post Varinder who was deaf and dumb but an outstanding wrestler as a junior coach.
