Dr SIDHU SAYS STATEMENTS OF PUNJAB AAP LEADERS ARE ‘INDIVIDUAL VIEWS’

AMRITSAR: Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned from Parliament’s upper House on July 18, will announce his future plans and role in Punjab politics in New Delhi on Monday, which he considers “lucky”.

His wife, Punjab chief parliamentary secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, again spoke for the incommunicado leader on Friday here. She said the statements of Aam Aadmi Party leaders Bhagwant Mann and Sucha Singh Chhotepur — that the ex-MP will not contest the 2017 state elections or be the AAP’s chief ministerial face — were “individual views until we hear it from Sidhu himself or some top leader”.

She had said earlier that Sidhu had “crossed the point of no return” in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and now the AAP was his “best option”.

“Let him finish his professional engagements. He will face the media on Monday, his auspicious day,” she said.

The AAP has gone all out to welcome Sidhu and the Congress is also trying to poach him. “Sidhu quit the Rajya Sabha for Punjab and no other allurement,” said the Amritsar East legislator. “Judge his credibility and charisma by the political earthquake it started.” ‘WE’LL BE IN SAME PARTY, ONLY ONE WILL CONTEST’

The CPS, who had lambasted the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and took on her party for sidelining Sidhu, said: “It is not possible that Sidhu and I work in different parties. I will help him whenever he asks.” She said the Sidhus had not struck any deal and “only one of us will contest the 2017 polls”. ‘BADAL ONLY KNOWS KHARCHA YA PARCHA’

Taking a dig at the ruling SADBJP regime, Sanjay said, “It’s a ‘kharcha ya parcha’ government. Maano to kharcha, na maano to parcha’ (either you agree to pay or face police case),” he said.

He promised that they will quash all ‘fake’ FIRs within a month of AAP coming to power.
